Nini had her first check up yesterday with our midwife. She is in top form and has gained an ounce a day since leaving the hospital! At one point Nini got so mad because she was being poked and prodded that she squished her face up to a bright red color, flexed her arms and fists and howled like a little Wu-Shu warrior before challenging Bruce Lee during 3rd take of “Enter the Dragon”.

ookala discovered that she can wiggle her way out of even tightly swaddled blanket, and does not hesitate to use this knowledge. which is funny, because she is much happier when swaddled tight.

isn’t this the perfect metaphor for all our human condition?

very fascinating to watch – a face of a sleeping infant. the brain is establishing functional parameters, and it’s firing testing sequences to facial muscles; you can see smile, frown, fear, concern, pleasure, surprise and so on replacing each other in eerie display of alien technology.

perhaps scientologists are up onto something. scary but infinitely fascinating.
