today ookala completed her first swimming course. she wore a bathing suit and a life vest. photos and videos are coming.

for dinner, she ate:

  • yums
  • sweet potatoes
  • buckwheat kasha
  • salmon
  • orange juice

she graduated from the infant car seat to  big kids seat, the cadillac of car seats, britax marathon. it is so comfortable, she doesn’t want to leave it.

she has new teeth coming to join the four she already has.

dancing

today ookala learned how to dance, all on her own. when i sing one of the 20th swing songs, she pulls her hands on the level of her chest, and rotates her torso left and right, to the rhythm.

unmistakenly dance, learned all on her own…

my baby is so smart…

ookala is so smart, she is helping papa at work. she is now standing, even without holding onto anything for a few seconds, crawling with a speed of thunder, and dancing something akin to irish riverdance. she is eating vegetable puree, avocados, kiwi, canned salmon, and papa’s liver. she says papa, mama, bapa and can make the ululating sound like injuns in bad cowboy movies.  right now she is trying to peel of the bubblewrap from the fireplace’s hearth, in an apparent attempt to break her head and upset papa. but mama is always on guard and saves the baby at the last moment.

ookala is clearly a fire worshipper and can watch it for hours. do zoroastrians accept female priests already?

and, she loves to fly

Nini 7 months old today!

(At Artwalk in August when she wasn’t even two months)
Nini’s got two teeth now, they came in last week the second one this week. She likes to put her finger in her mouth and feel her teeth with a far away expression on her face like What is this?
After a couple weeks of unwittingly saying “mamama” once in a while when she wants me to pick her up – well, today on her 7 month b-day she IS for sure saying “Mama” to me and has done it all day long! I’m floored – The fact that she’s forming a word, and that it’s “Mama”. Weee!
